Color

Yes, you read right, color. Let your inner Kindergartner out to play! There are studies going back to the early 20th-century psychologist, Carl Jung that prove it is not only a relaxation technique but it has shown to combat stress as well.

“In simplest terms, coloring has a de-stressing effect because when we focus on a particular activity, we focus on it and not on our worries. But it also “brings out our imagination and takes us back to our childhood, a period in which we most certainly had a lot less stress.” This leads us immediately and unconsciously to welfare, exposes the Gloria Martinez Ayala.”

Have your coloring book and colored pencils on hand and schedule at least 3 10-15 minute breaks to color in between study sessions to help stress melt away.

Eat Healthy & Exercise

Trade in energy drinks, soda, and caffeine for water and green tea. Got the munchies? Snack on stuff like fruit, nuts, and granola bars, or PB Protein Bites. If you can’t make it to the gym for a workout, go outside for a brisk walk or turn up the music and dance in your room.

Sleep

Sleep can be hard to think about if you are cramming for a few exams at the same time. However, all the cramming will be in vain if you don’t get at least 8 hours a sleep a night.

“Research has consistently shown that taking the time to sleep before an exam will benefit your test score more than four or five hours of staying awake staring at notes that you will not remember.

In fact, the National Institutes of Health found sleep deprived students have lower GPA’s due to the fact that it impacts memory and concentration.”
